About TTM Rail
TTM exists with the purpose of improving the sustainability of public transport by helping operators and OEM’s continue to make rail the preferred mode of transport in our cities.
For us, this is achieved by continually challenging and improving on the status quo within our industry, whether relating to the quality of technical solutions, bettering accepted standard practices or even the way we support our customers on a day to day basis. We take immense satisfaction from delving deep into the details and ultimately delivering significant improvements in reliability, safety and efficiency of systems and vehicles for our customers.
Company History
Founded in 1997, TTM Rail remains an Australian, family owned and operated company based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. Since our inception, we have focused solely on providing solutions for the rolling stock industry.
We have established ourselves to be one of the preferred suppliers for electrical and electronic rolling stock engineering services within Australia. We have achieved this by providing the skills, expertise and outcomes which challenge the major global suppliers in the industry, whilst maintaining excellent customer service, and the ability to be nimble and flexible to meet the constant change in needs for our customers.
This combination of exceptional technical expertise and continued customer focus has ensured we maintain an excellent ongoing working relationship with our customers.
Our Facilities
TTM Rail now operate across two sites in the northern suburb of Epping, VIC.
Head Office – Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Facility
Our head office was purpose built in 2018 on a site of 2800m2. This site encompasses our management, engineering and design offices, goods warehouse and a dedicated workshop to carry out services for reactive maintenance, equipment repairs and overhaul programmes.

Workshop Equipment and Capabilities
Our workshop has been fit out with specialised equipment to ensure we can service the subsystems from our customers with the highest possible standard. Some of our key equipment includes:
Electrical and Electronic Testing and Repairs
Traction Line Test facilities
Our test facilities are setup to be able to test traction line levels up to 1500Vdc, and up to 100kW power. This allows equipment to be tested at real line voltage levels and at high loads for increased confidence in the repair or overhaul outcomes.
Equipment and Capabilities for Electronic Repairs
With a dedicated repair room for electronic equipment, we have a vast array of test equipment for all kinds of control circuits.
We have soldering facilities to conduct both through hole and surface mount repairs and prototyping. Our electronic technicians have been trained and certified to IPC standards, so you can be confident any rework being done is in accordance with industry best practice.
Fabrication and Prototyping
To support our prototyping, low volume production runs and one off repairs, TTM have invested in a vast array of fabrication equipment including:
- 80T x 3.2m hydraulic press brake
- 2.6m sheet metal guillotine,
- Specialised hydraulic bus bar fabrication equipment,
- General fabrication equipment including, drills, mills, welders, grinders, hydraulic press, etc.
In addition to the above equipment, we are continually investing and adding to the facilities to ensure we keep up to date, and offer the best possible service for our customers.
New Build Production Facility
As part of our commitment to increase local manufacturing, and the increase in customer demand for new product manufacturing, we have opened our first dedicated new build production facility.
